I couldn’t believe my eyes when I received a large parcel from Warbutons which contained their new loaf of bread and their soft white bread rolls! Being a fan of Warburtons for a long time, I was pleased to have been asked to try their new range and give you my verdict!
Gone are the days when you would have to either ‘refresh’ your gluten free bread in the microwave or toast the bread before eating it as now we’re pretty much spoilt for choice. Little coeliac me can’t believe that I can now eat a sandwich using fresh gluten free bread and choose what type of bread I want; from seeded to brown to bread rolls to wraps - and I have a good feeling the range and choice will get bigger!
As of Monday 29th September Warbutons will be releasing their new bread range, which you will find in Sainsburys and Asda. Their new white, brown and seeded Farmhouse Loaves will replace their existing loaves. Whats more, from the 13th October you’ll also be able to purchase the new products from Tesco, Morrisons and Waitrose!
One of the things I noticed about the new loaves was how much larger they are and how ‘normal’ it looked! It wasn’t in that horrible hard plastic case which most gluten free bread is in nor was it plasticy looking - it looked normal and would food anyone into thinking it wasn’t gluten free!
The slices have a lovely dark crust around the edges and the rest of the bread is soft and fluffy - perfect for making sandwiches with! I decided to toast my slices and have it with my morning coffee and they tasted like ‘real’ slices of bread. I even gave some to Mike to try who confessed that he wouldn’t have known it was gluten free if I hadn’t told it was before!
I also tried their new Soft White bread rolls which have replaced their Sub Rolls!. Although I quite liked their gluten free sub rolls, I sometimes found it difficult to slice in half where as with the new bread rolls it’s a doddle and so easy to slice! Plus you get four rolls as opposed to 3 sub rolls like before, and they fit perfectly in lunch boxes, go well with soup etc.
I really like the soft white bread rolls and I can see myself purchasing these on a regular basis, especially as they taste lovely fresh! My only concern (which is a slight, minuscule’ concern) is the rolls are quite ‘floury’ on top. This gives the rolls a lovely freshly baked feeling but I found myself with flour all over my mouth and hands - but as I said, this is such a little annoyance and won’t stop me buying it!
Verdict:
I just love, love, LOVE the new gluten free, wheat free and dairy free range from Warbutons and I know I will become obsessed with their Soft White bread rolls! Don’t forget to keep a look out for the new range in major supermarkets and let me know what you think!

My mam has been coeliac for many years and it is great to see her enjoy a real sandwich without having to toast her bread or refresh it. It’s took a long time but it’s great we can get buns so she can eat the same as the rest of us and not look like the odd one out xx thank you so much xx
